Welcome back guys to week six! I'm so happy that you came back or if you are new, welcome! How's everyone doing? I hope everything is well. I'm still doing the twice or three times a week posting blogs because now I only have two weeks of school left! I actually can't believe that I'll be a senior next year! Time does fly by and I'm actually excited for my senior year; even though I'm still nervous, but I'm still looking forward to what's in store for me. But enough about me, let's start with this blog.
Today I want to do a little something different. I want to use two of my sermonettes in my blog's. So, basically you'll be reading two of my sermonettes that I made with the Holy Spirit's guidance. I wanted to do this last week, but I figured I had to wait to present it to the people first and then present it to the internet. This sermonette is called, "It Didn't Work As They Thought It Would."
Scriptures says in Daniel 1: 19-27NLT says, [19] “ Nebuchadnezzar was so furious with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego that his face became distorted with rage. He commanded that the furnace be heated seven times hotter than usual. [20] Then he ordered some of the strongest men of his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing furnace. [21]So they tied them up and threw them into the furnace, fully dressed in their pants, turbans, robes, and other garments. [22]And because the king, in his anger, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the three men in. [23]So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, securely tied, fell into the roaring flames. [24]But suddenly, Nebuchadnezzar jumped up in amazement and exclaimed to his advisers, “Didn’t we tie up three men and throw them into the furnace?” “Yes, Your Majesty, we certainly did,” they replied. [25]“Look!” Nebuchadnezzar shouted. “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed! And the fourth looks like a god!”[26]Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. [27] Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke!
If you want to read the whole story, here's the link: https://www.bible.com/bible/116/DAN.3.NLT. Last year I had done a small devotional about the three Hebrew boys and titled it, “Have Faith,” but I want to come at this story a little differently. As you all know this sermonette is called “It Did Not Work As They Thought It Would”. But who am I referring to? Who am I talking about? Your enemy! They thought it was going to work, but thanks are unto God it did not work. They had a plan and everything, but it still didn’t work.
One day I was trying to charge my phone, but it didn’t work and I was mad when I found out that it wasn't going to work. I was smart enough to know that my mother wasn’t going to run to the store right away. Once she is in the house, she doesn't go back outside to get things, unless it's something she really needs like extra meat or some dish-washing liquid. I knew she was going to get me another charger the next day, but I didn’t want to wait because I didn’t want to miss out on anything important.
So knowing my impatient self, I went on and tried to do all that I could to make this charger work. I tried to bend it, I tried to wrap it around my phone, I’d even tried to stack books on top of it, but it didn’t want to work like I thought it would. Sadly, I got mad and frustrated because I thought these strategies were going to work.
Isn't it funny how your enemies try to do little strategies to make you quit, for you to give up and just give into their plan? For example, they try to lie on you, talk bad about you, and try to picture you as a bad person just so you can quit. But when they see you not giving in, they get mad because they thought that their plan would work. They thought you were going to give up; they thought you weren't going to last.
And so now they’re getting mad, frustrated, and irritated because they’re like, “Man how much is it going to take to make this plan work?” If I was presenting this, I would say, "look at your neighbor and tell them, it didn't work because God is with me." I dare you to tell yourself, it didn't work because God is with me.
If you don’t believe me, let me encourage you with the word! Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can ever be against us.” You still don’t believe me? I’ll give you one more, Isaiah 54:17 says, ``No weapon formed against you shall prosper.” I DIDN’T WORK !!!
So as we look back into the word, it says in verses 26-27, “Then Nebuchadnezzar came as close as he could to the door of the flaming furnace and shouted: “Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, servants of the Most High God, come out! Come here!” So Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego stepped out of the fire. [27] Then the high officers, officials, governors, and advisers crowded around them and saw that the fire had not touched them. Not a hair on their heads was singed, and their clothing was not scorched. They didn’t even smell of smoke!”
Now for those who don’t know what this verse means or if you're just confused; you're probably like, “ Kennedey you said it didn’t work, but didn't the king threw them into the fire?” Yes, the king did throw them into the fire, but his intention was for them to die in it, to be burn in it. And I want to tell encourage and tell all my readers that they tried to put you in some mess, they tried to kill you in it, but their intentions were wrong. It did not work! It failed! Everything they tried, didn’t hurt you, Why? Because God had his hand on you. You may have thought that the enemy's plan was going to work but I came here to tell you that it didn’t. They might have thought that it was going to work, but it didn’t. Why? Because God made it fail!
I hope that helped someone to stay encourage and just go forward, because it didn't work. Thank you again for coming back and I hope to see you more this week! Remember: The Word Is The Best Way To Get Through This Journey Called Life.
