Present Confidence Inspired By Past Experiences

Hello again! Thank you for coming back to week three to read my devotionals! Today I want to talk about the title, which says, "Present Confidence Inspired By Past Experiences." Now, you're probably wondering what does the title mean, and it simply means that my faith is so confident in God that I know if I'm in a deep situation where it doesn't look good, he'll get me through it because of past experiences. Just like that saying, "If he did it before, he'll do it again."
I want to take the time to talked about Abraham's situation. Genesis 22:1-18 is one of my favorite stories in the Bible because it shows how much Abraham trusted in the Lord and was obedient to his will. Abraham was a God fearing man! If you want to read the whole story, here it is for you: https://www.bible.com/bible/116/GEN.22.NLT
This story is basically about God testing Abraham's faith. So God told Abraham to take his son Isaac and go to the land of Moriah to sacrifice him as a burnt offering. Abraham was going to have to kill his only son that he truly loved. Now, I know some of y'all would probably lose your mind if God asked you that and to be honest I probably would too. But, Abraham was obedient and did what God told him to do. He gathered some supplies that he needed, got Isaac and some servants to be with him through this journey.
As I was reading and studying this story there were some verses that stuck on to me, which was verses 5-8. Genesis 22: 5-8 says, [5]“Stay here with the donkey,” Abraham told the servants. “The boy and I will travel a little farther. We will worship there, and then we will come right back.”[6]So Abraham placed the wood for the burnt offering on Isaac’s shoulders, while he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them walked on together, [7]Isaac turned to Abraham and said, “Father?”
“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied. "We have the fire and the wood,” the boy said, “but where is the sheep for the burnt offering?” [8] “God will provide a sheep for the burnt offering, my son,” Abraham answered. And they both walked on together. The reason why these verses stuck out to me because Abraham told his servants to stay with the donkey, while him and Isaac travel to the mountain- but that's not what caught my attention. What really caught my attention was that Abraham told his servants that he and Isaac were going to come right back.
Now, at that moment I was like, "Now why would Abraham lie to his servants telling them that Isaac was going to come back, knowing God told him to sacrifice his son as a burnt offering?" And so I began to ask God the same question and he revealed to me that Abraham did not lie, all he simply did was have Faith in advance that the Lord will provide. Why? Because he had past experiences, which made him confident that God will provide. That's why he told Isaac that God will provide when Isaac was curious about them not having a sheep for the burnt offering.
So as a result people of God, we should always have Faith that God will provide, because he will. If he wasn't a provider, he wouldn't have provided for almost your whole life whether it was a big or small situation, he still provided. I encourage you to put your faith in God like Abraham did, because he's the only true provider. Be a Abraham, not an Isaac, worrying where your next meal is coming from, or how you're going to the bills! All you have to say to yourself is, "God will provide because he has done it so many times in the past." It might've not been the same situation or maybe it was similar, but at the end of the day God is still Jehovah Jireh and he will always be! Let God provide for you! Your part is to just have faith and be obedient.
